“slapping a cross on it” is a sad reality of “Christian” art. And then there’s people like Dustin Kensrue or Michael Gungor. The latter recently voiced his frustrations with this phenomenon and it’s worth the read. 
Also, I don’t know who makes Coffee With Jesus but the guys who sit in front of me in my Theology of Ministry class look at it all the time and it’s hilarious.
